Zambales Sojourn - Capones Island (Day 1 & day 2)

After Camara, we proceeded to Capones Island. But because of the rough seas, we were not able to dock at the cove near the Lighthouse.

Day 1 (April 4, 2009)

We docked at the wide beach area with creamy fine sand. From that place to the lighthouse, it will be about 1 1/2 -hour trek as per Sheldon...that means about 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours trek for our group. hahahaha.

So we spent about an hour picture taking, before we proceeded to our campsite. The beach area is so wide and the sand is finer---for me, a great place to spend a day of swimming. But, as expected from the islets in this area, there are no structures nor resorts here.

Day 2 (April 5, 2009)

Since I made a resolve not to leave this area without visiting the Lighthouse, made arrangement with the boatman to make sure that we will be able to drop by Capones before going back to Pundaquit the following day. Of course, with the help of a prayer for calmer seas.

So we were indeed blessed with calmer seas and good weather.

It was a short, yet steep, trek to the lighthouse area. Spent a longer time here taking photos until my battery run out. Left my spare at the beach area with Yaya Rose. So, I decided to use my handy Ixus camera for the rest of the photos. Gia used the Ixus and her lomo fisheye camera here.

We had fun posing and clowning around. Missed taking a shot of the whole run down building & the lighthouse. Never thought to go to the back of the lighthouse for this. Guess we were drained by the climbed up to the top of the lighthouse and the heat of the sun. Maybe next time.
